Mailflare
Vendor unknown·Closed source
Definition maintained by nobody yet. clients/mailflare.json
Cannot be measured until its definition has a layout: the window, the list, the reader and the search field.
Reading its numbers
- Holds a few hundred messages, not the mailbox: the newest 50 in each folder, more as the list is scrolled. Its memory, launch, search and idle CPU are those of a small local copy.
Results
Each column is one run. The place is among the clients in that run, lowest first; within one display frame of the fastest counts as a tie. Runs are not comparable with each other.

- Search. Searches subject, sender and preview in the messages it has downloaded, never the full text or the server, and waits 200 ms after a keystroke before it starts.
- Open a message. Opening a message downloads its body from the server the first time, where the other clients already have it.
- Idle CPU. Includes re-checking the newest 50 messages in every folder once a minute.
Setting it up
So it holds the whole mailbox
- By design Mailflare fetches only the newest 50 messages in each folder, and older mail from the server as the list is scrolled. It cannot be made to hold the whole mailbox, so it never does the same job as a client that does.
Its window
Measured in October 2026 with a definition that was never committed. Its bundle id, window and coordinates need adding before it can be measured again.
